Parking for LEFE car in the basement

Hi all, I have a project with 4 basements serving as underground parkings. I have a question: will LEFE car parking always locate in the basement 1 near the entrance? is it possible to locate preferred parking in basement 2 or 3 near the lift lobby. Because peolpe will go up the building by lift in the basement rather than walking up on the vehicle ramps? Thanks for your advice

The answer depends on whether your project was registered prior to LEED Interpretation #10202 (April 2012). If it was registered before, then locating the spaces closest to the vertical circulation is acceptable. If registered after, you must locate them all in the spaces that are the shortest driving + walking distance, which almost always means the level closest to the garage entrance. There is a whole thread further down about this so I won't get back on my soapbox about how ridiculous this ruling is.
