Schools-2009 IDc1:Innovation in Design

IDc1.3 Green Housekeeping

We received comments back on this credit stating that the policy must follow the EBOM Policy Model. However, we are working with a new construction school. Does this still apply? Has anyone achieved this credit before, what did you use for documentation?

Hi Danielle, You do need to follow the EBOM policy model,  but that is different from showing performance. So you'd be writing a policy with all the EBOM policy requirements included (responsible party, metrics to be measured, training, etc) but you don't have to submit evidence that you've implemented the plan. The USGBC website has a "policy model" doc as well as a sample green cleaning plan that follows it, so you can adapt those.
