So it is already clear cut that a LEED AP in BD+C can pursue this credit for a LEED ID+C project under LEEDv4.1. But I've been reading the final draft of the LEED v5 guide book for ID+C, and it says "At least one principal participant of the project team must be a LEED AP with a specialty appropriate for the project."
Does that mean I have to get AP ID+C credentials to work on a LEED ID+C project to get this credit under the LEED v5 rating system?
USGBC is transitioning to LEED v5 exams in 2026, which means the current LEED v4 exams will only be available for a limited time.
Key deadlines:
📅 LEED Green Associate v4
Last day to take the exam: April 26, 2026
📅 LEED AP with Specialty v4
Last day to take the exam: June 28, 2026
After that, candidates will transition to the LEED v5 beta exams, where results may not be available immediately while passing scores are finalized.
If you've been thinking about earning your LEED credential, now may be the best time to prepare and take the exam under the current version.
