CS-v4.1 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Minimum Skylight Fenestration Area

I am working on a data center and planning to use Prescriptive provisions of Sections 5 through 10 to comply with energy credit. The data hall is greater than 232 m2 but they are not occupied. I wonder if  minimum skylight fenestration area requirements are applicable to this space or can be exempted.

You have to do better than comply with the prescriptive provisions.  Could you please provide a specifc reference to the section that requires a minimum skylight area?

Hi Marcus, I am referring to section 5.5.4.2.3 of ASHRAE 90.1(2016).

Data center is not listed under the space types where this is required. See 5.5.4.2.3.c. So it is already exempt since it is not included.
