Roof Typology

Hi everyone,

I’m certifying an hotel LEED Gold in Rome. I'm looking for an inverted roof with gravel as finish. Is it good for the credit SS Heat Island Reduction? I have to check SRI of the gravel?

Hi, If you want to document roof area compliance with this credit, yes the gravel would be included, and yes, you will need to get SRI info for the product used. This is rarely available for regular gravel; if the provider does not have the info, then you would need to get the product tested and provide the results for the supporting documentation.
