Process energy cost
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Charline SEYTIER on
Hi everyone, Reading the v4 reference guide, it seems that the default process energy being 25% of total energy cost for the baseline disappeared from the requirements. Have you also noticed it?
electric transformer
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Francesco Passerini on
In the building there is an electric transformer that transforms the electricity coming from the grid into low voltage energy. The transformer is particularly efficient.
Ireland Climate Zone
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by James Duggan on
Hi all, Could anyone clarify if Ireland is in climate zone 5A or 5C? Thanks in advance
Demand Control Ventilation
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Victoria Watson on
Can you take credit for occupancy sensors that control HVAC systems? I am thinking probably not for system operation E.g setbacks, agree? But I am unsure for the ventilation.
Energy Modelling - Australia
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Quentin Jackson on
We have a Green Building Council in Australia that has a very advanced energy simulation methodology that achieves the same outcomes as the ASHRAE 90.1 process outlined in LEED.
ASHRAE 90.1-2010 VRF Requirements
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Rudolph Carneiro on
Does anyone know wether or not evaporator input power should be included in the efficiency calculation of a VRF system?
90.1-2007 G3.1.1 exception d vs 90.1-2010 exception c
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Cory Duggin on
Exception c requires that lab spaces use a system 5 or 7 in the same way that exception d does, but exception c does not prescribe any specific turn down during unoccupied periods.
Data Center Calculator
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Vassil Vassilev on
For Data center project, I've supplied the designer team with the Data Center Calculator, so that they'd be able to fill it in with their project data. However, There are some questions in relation
insulation thickness versus energy modeling
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Jennifer Webb on
We are running into a situation where the insulation is slightly under the R38 (R34.8) that is required per ASHRAE 90.1 yet the energy model shows we are over 10% energy efficient.
Air Barrier for Existing Building
NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performanceposted by Martin Meehan on
Hi all, This query follows on a similar theme to the previous topic. We are working on an existing building that is intending to improve the envelop performance by internally adding insulation to
